Your Control Panel
All hosting accounts that are hosted with Xengo have access to cPanel - an extremely powerful yet easy-to-use control panel. You can administrate every aspect of your web site from this control panel. If you would like to test drive the control panel, or have any questions please don't hesitate to get in touch.
Control Panel Functionality
You can perform the following tasks with cPanel - the control panel used on all hosting accounts hosted with Xengo:
| E-mail Functions | More Info |
| Create e-mail addresses | Once the e-mail address has been created you can then automatically configure your e-mail client to use this newly-created e-mail address. |
| View webmail | We have installed Horde, SquirrelMail and RoundCube for viewing webmail. |
| Create e-mail forwarders | You can forward e-mail to any other address or script. |
| Create e-mail auto-responders | An auto-responder will give an automatic reply to any e-mail received. |
| Establish default address | A default address will collect all e-mail sent to your domain. |
| Create mailing lists | A comprehensive way for you to manage online communities. |
| Configure your anti-spam and anti-virus settings | You can read more about how Xengo protects your e-mail addresses here. |
| File Functions | More Info |
| Manage backups | You can make a backup of your whole site, or just the MySQL sections of your site. You can also restore these backups if required. |
| File manager | Allows you to upload, download, delete, move and compress/uncompress files on your web space. |
| Monitor disk space usage | Drills down to show where your disk space is being used. |
| FTP accounts | Allows you to create FTP accounts that can be used to access different areas of your web site. |
| Security Functions | More Info |
| Password protect directories | Allows you to use passwords to protect individual directories. |
| IP deny manager | Allows you to block access to your web site from IP addresses which you specify. |
| Hotlink protection | HotLink protection prevents other web sites from directly linking to files on your web site. Other sites will still be able to link to any file type that you don't specify (e.g. html files). An example of hotlinking would be using a <img> tag to display an image from your site from somewhere else on the net. The end result is that the other site is stealing your bandwidth. |
| Manage GnuPG Keys | Allows you to create and manage keys which can then be used for encryption. |
| Domain Functions | More Info |
| Sub domains | Allows you to create sub domains on your account (e.g. sub.domain.com) |
| Parked domains | Allows you to park a domain on top of your hosting account. For example, if you own the .net version of your web site you may park this on top of your .co.uk so that all visitors to your .net domain see the same content. |
| Addon domains | An addon domain allows you to specify a directory which will be used for the addon domain (e.g. you could use www.domain.com/newdomain as a directory. If newdomain.com was then added on this way, all of the /newdomain content would be displayed). |
| Redirects | Allows you to create redirects for different areas of your web site. |
| Database Functions | More Info |
| MySQL databases | Allows you to create, edit and delete MySQL databases. Also includes user management. |
| phpMyAdmin | A script which allows you to manage your MySQL databases from a browser. |
| Remote MySQL | Allows you to add IP addresses which can then be used to administrate your databases remotely. |
| PostgreSQL databases | Allows you to create, edit and delete PostgreSQL databases. Also includes user management. |
| phpPgAdmin | A script which allows you to manage your PostgreSQL databases from a browser. |
| Software Functions | More Info |
